Grand Forks Good Friends Laundry Love
GF² LaundryLove is a service for the community that will provide means to have clean clothing and bedding. It is for anyone having a tough time balancing trying to get clean clothing/bedding over paying bills or other essential financial obligations.
Our goal is to help as many as we can through providing events to wash and dry clothes without worrying about the money needed to do so. We will provide laundry detergent and dryer sheets to use as well.
About Us
GF² is a Daughter/Mom duo, Akira and Jen, who found LaundryLove through the BeStrong app. Knowing the struggles of not being able to get laundry done on a regular basis for a family of 6, we saw this as an opportunity to not only serve our community but grow as well.
Akira is am 8th grader this year (2023) and joined BeStrong over the summer. BeStrong is a national program for teens to be peer mentors and someone for others to go to during hard times.
Laundry Love
Laundry Love provides resources to assist low/no income families and person(s) across the US to wash their laundry. We brighten the lives of thousands of people through love, dignity, and detergent by partnering with diverse groups and laundromats nationwide.
BeStrong
As a Be Strong Student Representative, they are a light and a leader in their community and beyond.
Be Strong’s mission is to save and improve the lives of our youth using a peer-to-peer approach to strengthen mental, emotional, and relational health, build resilience, and prevent bullying.
Be Strong is a charity that serves youth, parents/guardians, educators, and communities by:
Hosting educational events
Recruiting and equipping student representatives
Supporting on-campus student-led initiatives,
Providing social, emotional and resilience skill-building training, and
Offering digital intervention tools such as The Be Strong App.
